TAA Benefits Meeting

For those of you who haven’t heard, the Union’s TAA
application has been approved by the Department of Labor.
TAA (Trade Adjustment Act) extends benefits to our members
who have separated from their job as a result of work being
moved out of the United States. This would include people
who left through the VSO, SSP or were laid off or who have
signed up for the SSP or employees who may become separated
due to work being moved out
of the US. Our application covers Cheshire Engine Center
employees who separated from January 2010 and any Cheshire
Engine Center employee who separates through January 2013.
Some benefits may include: additional unemployment, COBRA
credit, retraining money, relocation expense reimbursement,
etc. On March 29th, there will be representatives from the
CT DOL at Local 1746A’s Union Hall to answer any questions
you may have about this program. There will be two meetings:
2:00 PM and 3:15 PM. Please stop by the Union Hall on the
29th to get your questions answered. Also, forward this to
everyone you know who has separated from the Cheshire Engine
Center since January, 2010 so that they can receive this
information on their TAA Benefits. We look forward to seeing
you all on Tuesday, March 29th.
