Auto Techs Win First Agreement At Middletown Nissan

IAM District 26 negotiated an outstanding 1st agreement with Middletown
Nissan, on behalf of the 8 auto techs we represent. The techs deserve
congratulations. They stuck together like veteran unionists and made it clear
to the employer that they were serious. The employer should get credit for
recognizing the value of his tech team -- the best Nissan crew in CT -- and
reflecting that in the contract. But keep in mind -- this is a written
contract, enforceable by law and backed up by the Machinists Union. There's
not a non-union auto tech in CT who hasn't had something snatched back by the
boss without even a conversation about it. Middletown Nissan auto techs know
their wages and benefits for the next 3 years.
If you own a Nissan -- or are looking at them -- Middletown
Nissan is the place to go! We encourage "Buy American/Buy Union" but if you
decide on Nissan -- support a UNION establishment. For service, you cannot do
better. Two of Middletown Nissan's techs were national finalists in an
international Nissan competition last year, and 1 traveled to Japan to compete
in the international event. These guys really know their stuff!
